Parent Coaching Individual Sessions

For when you just need that focused 1 to 1 conversation with someone who gets it and who can help.

You're doing so much already... but something doesn't feel right.  The sooner you take the first step towards addressing trauma, burnout or overwhelm, the sooner you can move from disconnection to confidence.

We don't provide a 'one-size-fits-all' approach to supporting you.  We'll work with you to create a personalised plan to help you and support you with the challenges you're experiencing.

How do the parent coaching sessions work?

Our coaching sessions are one hour, usually online and each one is personalised to meet your needs. We don’t use a set programme – we share the approach in the way that works best for you.

A large part of this work is looking at ourselves – our own beliefs, attachment styles and needs – but also addressing any trauma, burnout or emotional overwhelm that’s going on for us as parents. This helps us to understand how we are connecting with our children. Our own upbringing and experiences play a role in how we parent and that understanding can be powerful in changing our relationship with our own children.

So, we’ll start by… understanding the challenges you’re experiencing, the needs of your children, your needs and any other relevant information.

Next… we’ll work with you to create a plan and together we’ll think about how the trauma-informed Connective Parenting approach can help you. It may include some nervous system mapping for example – a simple but fascinating process that shows us how our body responds to different experiences. It helps us to regulate ourselves and, in turn, regulate our children.

We can help you with:

  • school avoidance

  • physical and verbal aggression

  • defiance

  • sibling struggles

  • controlling ‘behaviours’

  • trauma responses

  • struggles with connecting with your child

  • feeling triggered by your child

  • struggling with day-to-day life

  • feeling not good enough as a parent

  • struggling to connect with your child

  • feeling emotionally exhausted and maybe in burnout

  • self-awareness

  • … and everything in between.

Our parent coaching supports families with children of all ages, as our approach is relationship-based and helps with any relationship, whatever age.

(It works with adults as well!)

It isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about sustainable change from the inside out.

Who are the coaching sessions with?

Sessions are held with one of our qualified and experienced coaching team, all of whom have trained with Sarah.

We usually operate a waiting list and you will work with the next available coach who is the best fit for your family,
unless you have stated a preference.

Where are the sessions held?

Most of our sessions are held online, so wherever you are in the country you can work with us.

We also offer in-person sessions in: Haywards Heath, Sussex and Cardiff, Bridgend and NPT, South Wales.

(If individual sessions are not right for you, the Connective Parenting Hub offers lots of training and support within a group environment.  You can find the details about the Connective Parenting Hub here.)
